Kroger Announces Plans to Close 60 Stores Across the U.S. Months After CEO Quit

Kroger revealed in its first quarter earnings report, released on June 20, that it plans to close 60 grocery stores — or about 5% of its current 1,239 locations — over the next 18 months. Kroger operates in 16 states across the U.S.
